Germany Sends Ammunition and Equipment to Ukraine

Germany announced an additional aid package with ammunition and equipment for the Ukrainian military.

According to the information published on the Bundestag’s website, the package includes equipment from Bundeswehr and industry stocks, and assistance measures with partners.

They are, in particular, funded by the federal government to develop security capabilities.

The package included 7,390 rounds of 155mm ammunition for the Ukrainian Western-made artillery system.

47040 rounds of 40mm ammunition for automatic and hand-held grenade launchers.

These rounds are actively used by US Mk19 grenade launchers.

Missiles for two Patriot air defense systems from Germany are being transferred.

The second Patriot system, which Germany has promised to transfer to Kyiv, will be launched in Ukraine this year.

Equipment

9 Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles are transferred, which are capable of transporting troops over difficult terrain. The package includes three mobile, remote controlled and protected mine clearing systems.

The additional assistance package also includes:

• 8 Zetros trucks
• 4 semi-trailers for truck tractor trains 8×8 HX81
• 8 Zetros tankers
• 4 vehicles (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles)
• 47 Toyota Land Cruiser

In addition, Germany sent Ukraine 14 drone detection systems.

In the near future, Ukraine and the German defense company Rheinmetall will launch the production of armored vehicles in Ukraine.
