The German company STARK has presented two new unmanned aerial vehicles—the Cascade and Gambit reconnaissance and strike drones.
This is stated in the company’s press release shared with Militarnyi.
The Gambit system has a range of 25 km, while the Cascade system covers a radius of 40 to 100 km.
The Cascade loitering munition features container launch and can be integrated onto various platforms. It can be deployed on vehicles, boats, and stationary systems.
The drone is capable of carrying a payload of up to 4.5 kg. The developers have already successfully demonstrated the launch of Cascade from the Vanta unmanned boat.
Meanwhile, Gambit is a compact quadcopter-type system. It is designed to perform reconnaissance and strike missions directly on the front lines.
The system weighs only 6 kg, allowing it to be transported by a single operator.
Gambit is available in a reconnaissance variant with a flight duration of up to 50 minutes and a range of up to 40 km, and in a strike version that carries up to 2 kg of explosives and can engage targets at a range of 25 km.
Both systems are equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors and support visual navigation without GNSS satellite systems.
Resistance to enemy electronic warfare is ensured by a secure communication channel and the option to use a fiber-optic cable for the Gambit.
Previously, STARK and the startup INLEAP Photonics have entered into a partnership to develop laser defense systems against drones.
The partners are integrating INLEAP technology into STARK’s unmanned systems, specifically into the Vanta family of surface drones. This development enables the engagement of aerial targets using a laser beam.
