The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released evidence of a violation of airspace by a Hungarian drone.
This was reported by the press service of the General Staff.
According to the military, on the morning of September 26th, radar detected an aircraft flying over the territory of Zakarpattia region at different altitudes.
It was identified as a drone. The device twice violated the state border of Ukraine from Hungary.
In order to neutralize the potential threat, the Defense Forces patrolled the airspace near Uzhhorod with a Chaklun-KM drone from the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To confirm that the state border had been violated, the General Staff released visuals of the drone’s flight.
As a reminder, this incident was previously reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, it was a preliminary reconnaissance of the industrial potential of the border regions of Ukraine.
In May of this year, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Hungarian military intelligence network that was collecting information on the defense capabilities of the Zakarpattia region.
One of the agents was a 40-year-old former soldier from the Berehovo district, who was recruited by the Hungarian side and put on ‘standby’ back in 2021.
The curator ‘activated’ him in September 2024 and instructed him to study the mood of the local population, their attitude to the possible deployment of a Hungarian peacekeeping contingent, and to search for places to buy military equipment.
The Hungarians were also interested in the location of the Ukrainian military’s forces and equipment, as well as the number and staffing of local law enforcement agencies.
It is documented that after that, the agent personally reconnoitered the location of the Defense Forces and the coordinates of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in the region.
Earlier, Militarnyi published audio recordings from 2023 calling on the minister of defence of Hungary Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky to “end the peaceful mentality and move to phase zero on the road to war.”
In the recording, he notes that the ‘rejuvenation’ policy, which was carried out under the slogan of renewing the army’s command staff, was actually aimed at replacing the military with those more loyal to the Orban regime.
