Soldiers of the Freedom of Russia Legion, who are fighting on the side of Ukraine, have received TerMIT ground drones.
The unit stated that large-caliber machine guns were installed on the robotic platforms.
In particular, American Browning M2 heavy machine guns were installed on the platforms.
Soldiers can control the drone and machine gun from a distance from a safe place.
“If you are a joystick professional but don’t want to pick up a weapon, you can use a remote control to strike enemies with a cannon from a distance,” said the Legion fighters.
TerMIT is one of the developments of the Brave1 cluster members.
The platform is built on a tracked chassis, has a payload of 300 kilograms and a range of 20 km.
It can reach speeds of up to 10 km/h.
Depending on the configuration, the drone can perform a variety of tasks: logistics, evacuation, mining, and strike missions.
For example, the developers managed to successfully integrate the platform with the Burya grenade launcher turret, which allows the military to fire the Mk-19 grenade launcher from a distance without endangering themselves.
In this modification, the built-in stabilization system allows for precision firing on the move at a distance of up to 1800 meters.
“The turret’s automatic targeting system works very accurately, even better than the operator, especially when shooting at multiple targets. A big plus is that the turret can store settings and quickly reorient itself between targets, ensuring precise hits within a 20-30 meter radius,” said TerMIT drone users.
