France supplied more military aid to Ukraine in 2024 than in 2022 and 2023 combined, according to the latest parliamentary report on arms exports.

Force Operation Blog reported this information, citing the 2024 parliamentary report.

As of May 1, 2024, France had delivered equipment worth €3.035 billion. Eight months later, the total reached €5.9 billion. In addition, France contributed €2.3 billion to the European Peace Facility, although €1.4 billion of that remains blocked due to a Hungarian veto.

“The challenge in 2024 was longer-term support in key capabilities such as artillery, long-range strike, and ground-based air defense,” the government report to Parliament outlined.

According to the document, France supplied 36 155-mm artillery systems and 10 120-mm mortars in 2024. The report also mentions four additional artillery systems, likely LRU multiple rocket launchers (the French equivalent of the U.S. M270), withdrawn from the 1st Artillery Regiment.

France also transferred 162 VAB armored vehicles, 18 AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks, and 10 Bastion armored vehicles. While the report does not name the exact models, the quantities correspond to previously announced transfers.

The list further includes 22 “missiles and launchers” for ground-based air defense systems. France also supplied 4,000 pistols, 300 rifles, 282 7.62 mm machine guns, 156 heavy 12.7 mm machine guns, and 282 anti-tank systems and grenade launchers.

Details on artillery ammunition deliveries were not disclosed, but the ammunition category includes nine export licenses totaling more than €1.4 billion.

France has also trained approximately 19,000 Ukrainian service members, either on French territory or in Poland, under the EU training mission EUMAM, where French instructors are involved.

In late October 2025, France announced it would “soon” deliver additional Aster missiles for SAMP/T air defense systems, supply Mirage 2000-5F jets to Ukraine, and introduce new training programs.

The first French Mirage 2000-5F multirole fighters arrived in Ukraine in early February 2025.

On March 7, these aircraft participated in intercepting a Russian combined missile and drone strike, shooting down a Kh-101 cruise missile. The exact number of jets planned for transfer has not been disclosed; estimates range from 12 to 20 aircraft.
