The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a decree that allows foreigners to serve in the National Guard of Ukraine.
The document was published on the President’s website.
Foreign individuals who are legally present on the territory of Ukraine, have no criminal records, and meet the requirements of military service, defined by the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service,” can voluntarily enlist (under a contract) for military service in the National Guard of Ukraine.
Citizens of other countries can serve as privates, sergeants, and warrant officers.
They should apply to the Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support at their place of residence or directly to the military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, in which they want to perform military service under the contract.
Women can be hired for military service under the contract if there are vacancies available for them.
Then, foreigners must submit an application, confirm their consent to the processing of their personal data, and also consent to verification.
The applications and consents may be submitted in paper form or on-line.
Taking on the service of foreigners takes place according to the standard procedure, which includes a physical evaluation board, testing of physical and psychological qualities, and the creation of a personal record, to which the following documents are added:
Recently, Militarnyi reported about the battle of the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade, whose units retook the enemy position at 105-106 Hill near Nevelske, in the Donetsk region.
In the battle, foreign volunteers, in particular those from the United States and Canada, took an active part.
