Five Ukrainians liberated from Russian captivity – Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine

Another exchange of prisoners was completed. Five Ukrainians were liberated from captivity – one serviceman of the Armed Forces, one police officer, and three civilians.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War informs about this.

“During a special operation conducted by the forces of the special unit of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson Region, five Ukrainian citizens e being held captive by the Russian invaders were freed.”

It is noted that one of those released has a serious combat injury. All five people are currently under the care of the Ukrainian authorities and are receiving appropriate treatment.

As previously reported, on June 29, 144 Ukrainian defenders were released from captivity, including 95 Azovstal defenders.

Since the end of May, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defenсe of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine have been covering prisoner exchange issues.
