Ukrainian company Fire Point is developing a longer-range version of its drones, equipped with a 105 kg warhead, based on its current models.
Denys Shtilerman, co-owner and chief designer of the company, told NV that the team is now focused on extending the FP-2 strike drone’s flight range, which currently stands at about 200 kilometers.
“Our aim is to create a version of the drone that will carry the same 105-kilogram warhead but will be capable of flying a full deep-strike distance. This is not just a plan – it’s something that is being done right now. It’s no longer a project, but the implementation of a concrete solution,” Shtilerman said.
In his conversation with NV, the company’s co-owner also mentioned for the first time the possible emergence of a product called the FP-3. However, Fire Point is not ready to announce any details at this time, as the system is still in development.
The Ukrainian company Fire Point first publicly unveiled its “middle strike”-class attack drone designed to hit frontline targets in September 2025. However, it had already been used against Russian targets prior to that.
The FP-2 replicates the design of the long-range FP-1 drone, which is used to strike targets deep inside Russian territory. At the same time, its range was reduced from 1,400 km to 200 km, while its warhead was increased to 105 kg.
The drone has versions with autonomous guidance for striking stationary targets, as well as versions that an operator can manually control via radio link to engage moving targets.
Thanks to its precise targeting capability and continuous video transmission, combined with a large warhead, the drone has become one of the most widely used and effective tools for striking Russian targets at tactical and operational-tactical depth.
It is reported that at least one of the warhead variants was an adapted OFAB-100-110-TU aerial bomb weighing 121 kilograms, equipped with TG-50 explosive (a 50:50 mixture of TNT and RDX) with a total explosive mass of approximately 44 kg.
In late February, Fire Point conducted flight tests of its new FP-7 operational-tactical ballistic missile.
The FP-7 has a declared strike range of up to 200 km, a maximum speed of 1,500 m/s, and a circular error probability (CEP – meaning 50% of missiles are expected to hit within a circle of this radius) of 14 meters. The warhead weighs 150 kg, and the maximum flight duration is 250 seconds.
