Ukrainian drones struck cargo ships that were illegally present in the ports of Mariupol, Berdiansk, and in coastal waters.

The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that five ships were struck during the night of June 5.

The operation was carried out by the 1st Center of Unmanned Systems Forces using drones from Fire Point.

Each ship was hit by several UAVs, resulting in serious damage to the hulls and superstructures, and local fires broke out on board.

The Russian news agency Izvestia claims that five sailors were killed and six others were wounded. All of the deceased were reportedly citizens of Azerbaijan.

“Drones struck a tanker and two dry cargo ships in Taganrog Bay. The attack took place at 5:00 a.m.,” the report states.
