Ukrainian Defense Forces drones attacked the territory of Thermal Power Plant No. 22 in Dzerzhinsky, Moscow region.
Exilenova+ published footage of the attack.
Photo and video footage show that a fire broke out at the power plant.
The power plant is located just a few kilometers from the Moscow oil refinery.
Its importance largely stems from its connection to the refinery. The plant has a capacity of 1,375 MW.
The plant supplies electricity and heat to southeastern Moscow, Dzerzhinsky, and parts of Lyubertsy. It also supplies process steam to the Moscow oil refinery, located approximately 2 km away.
The damage could significantly disrupt energy supplies in the area and complicate operations at the oil refinery.
The strike on the power plant was part of a broader Ukrainian combined operation targeting several key facilities in the Moscow region.
The Moscow oil refinery was the central target of the operation and was attacked on the morning of September 20.

In addition, a warehouse operated by LLC Modern Warehouse Technologies in the Moscow region was also targeted.
The refinery in Kapotnya is among the ten largest oil refineries in Russia and supplies around 40% of Moscow and the Moscow Region’s demand for petroleum products.
The Moscow oil refinery currently has a processing capacity of 11 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
Meanwhile, the facility is one of the most compact refineries of its class, occupying just 284 hectares.
Although Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on the aftermath of the attacks, claiming that Russian forces had destroyed more than 1,600 UAVs since September 19, including around 450 on their approach to the capital, he made no mention of the attack on the power plant.
