An unidentified drone crashed onto the territory of a Polish military base in the Łódź province.
This was reported by the Polish Military Gendarmerie, according to Defence24.
This is the second such incident in recent times — the previous one was recorded on January 28.
The military unit on whose territory the drone crashed today is located in the town of Leżnica Wielka in the Łódź province.
This is the location of the 1st Air Cavalry Battalion, part of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade of the Polish Army.
Law enforcement officials reported that the crash of the drone did not cause any damage. The Military Counterintelligence Service of Poland has been involved in the investigation.
According to RMF FM reporter Krzysztof Zasada, the drone that fell on the military facility is a civilian model and is freely available in stores.
It was not destroyed by the military — the device got caught on a tree.
It is noted that this UAV is small in size.
In the Polish city of Pszczyna, an investigation is also underway into an incident involving a drone that fell on the territory of a military unit on January 28.
According to the Polish Military Gendarmerie, the object was probably a toy drone. The military also reported that the unmanned aerial vehicle did not have a memory card or SIM card.
In addition, Polish Ministry of National Defence spokesman Janusz Sejm stated that the object was not equipped with any surveillance or data collection devices. On January 29, Poland reported violations of its airspace by objects from Belarus.
