Denmark is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. This will be the 26th defense package from this country.

This was announced by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

According to Zelenskyi, Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting Ukraine. He stressed that such aid “helps protect lives” and expressed his gratitude for it.

During the meeting, they also discussed attracting direct investment in Ukraine’s defense industry.

The parties agreed as follows: if Russia refuses to cease fire, pressure on the aggressor must be increased.

Denmark is one of Ukraine’s most active Western allies.

This small country has already transferred nearly 20 Caesar self-propelled artillery systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, partially financed the purchase of 16 Zuzana self-propelled artillery systems, an undisclosed number of M109A3 self-propelled artillery systems that were restored from storage, as well as other artillery.

Denmark has also supported the Ukrainian Air Force by agreeing to transfer F-16 fighter jets, Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS), missiles for other air defense systems, and other weapons and equipment.

In addition, Denmark was the first to directly order Ukrainian Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems, which were then immediately transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thus launching the so-called “Danish model.”

In May, it became known that Denmark would allocate €830 million from frozen Russian assets to finance arms purchases from Ukrainian manufacturers.

Purchasing weapons directly from Ukrainian companies not only supports Ukraine’s economy, but also contributes to the development of the local defense industry and allows for better adaptation of weapons to the real needs of the front line.

Denmark has already allocated DKK 317 million (approximately €42.5 million euros) for the purchase of artillery shells for Ukraine.
