Ghosts, a unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), carried out another operation targeting Russian air defense assets in occupied Crimea, striking two radar stations.
The video was released by the press service of DIU.
According to the Defense Intelligence, the operation took place on December 13.
The targets included a Kasta-2E2 radar, as well as a 96L6E radar that is part of the S-400 air defense system.
“The latest strike by the DIU’s ‘Ghosts’ once again demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian weapons and the professionalism of military intelligence personnel,” the agency stated.
Previously, Militarnyi had reported the destruction of these radar systems, citing Astra, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the time, however, no video evidence was released, and there was no confirmation that the operation had been carried out by DIU personnel.
The 39N6 Kasta radar is a mobile two-coordinate surveillance radar operating in the decimeter band.
It is designed for airspace monitoring, target coordinate determination, and the detection of air targets, including those flying at very low altitudes.
The 96L6E radar is used within the S-400 air defense system to detect medium- and high-altitude air targets and is one of the system’s key radar components.
The radar is integrated into a unified air defense command and control network, allowing it to operate in conjunction with other sensors.
The system operates in the X-band (8-12 GHz), with a stated maximum air target detection range of up to 300 kilometers.
