In the Donetsk region, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have liberated the settlement of Storozheve from the Russian invaders.
The soldiers of the 35th Marine Infantry Brigade named after Rear-Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradsky reported about this.
The village, which was liberated by Odessa marines during the counteroffensive, has been under occupation since March 2022.
The military released a video from the liberated settlement.
In the course of the liberation of the settlement, about fifty invaders were destroyed, and four invaders were taken prisoner.
“Today, the national flag flies over Storozheve again, and it will be in every settlement until we liberate all Ukrainian land,” the statement reads.
According to the Ukrainian military, the operation began at approximately 5 a.m. The marines disembarked from their armored vehicles and began an assault on the settlement captured by the Russians.
The enemy resisted, the Russians used artillery, but the Ukrainian soldiers managed to take the initiative and free the village of Storozhove from the Russian invasion forces.
This settlement is part of the Velyka Novosilka settlement community of the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. The area of the village, which is located on the left bank of the Mokri Yala River, is 0.973 square kilometers.
The liberated settlement is located near the village of Neskuchne, the deoccupation of which was announced on Sunday, June 11.
In general, the Ukrainian military has significantly advanced in the direction from Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region, which is not far from the border with the Zaporizhzhia region. On Sunday, June 11, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that the Defense Forces had liberated the settlement of Makarivka.
Also, according to official information, Ukrainian forces liberated the settlement of Blahodatne.
