A video capturing a camera test conducted at a Chinese factory was discovered in a Russian Geran drone shot down by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The On Communications by Serhii Flesh Telegram channel published the footage.

The drone was equipped with an A40 camera manufactured by the Chinese company Viewpro. According to official information from the manufacturer, the production facility is located in Shenzhen, within the Aotexing Science Park in the Nanshan District.

The geolocation of the footage, conducted by the Cyberboroshno community, confirmed that the camera was indeed tested at this location (22.554448, 113.944050). This serves as further evidence that Chinese companies are actively supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

It is worth noting that Russia receives a significant amount of components and finished products from China, which are then used in its military equipment, including drones.

In March 2025, Militarnyi reported that a new 16-element CRPA antenna was discovered in Shahed kamikaze drones, designed to overcome Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.

In addition, Russia places large orders for battery packs to be used in drones and cooperates with China in other areas as well.

In July 2024, The New York Times published a report claiming that Russia is receiving sanctioned equipment, which is used to manufacture drones and other weapons, through Hong Kong.

According to the media, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has received chips and sensors worth approximately $4 billion.

The majority of these components were supplied from Hong Kong, where a vast network of shell companies operates to export the equipment.

Russia uses this equipment to produce weapons – including drones, cruise missiles, and more.

Based on an analysis of Russian customs data, corporate records, domain registrations, and sanctions documents, Russia has obtained chips and other semiconductors worth over $4 billion through more than 6,000 shell companies.
