During the training of the communications troops of the Armed Forces of Belarus, FPV drones with a fiber-optic control system were spotted in service with the Belarusian military.

The photos of the exercise were published by the press secretary of the Minister of Defenсe of the Republic of Belarus.

The demonstration of the drones took place during an operational and special training of the communications troops of the Armed Forces of Belarus, which are being held in preparation for the joint Russian-Belarusian exercise Zapad 2025.

The Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus watched the maneuvers of the military signalmen at one of the training grounds.

As part of military cooperation with the Russian Federation, the Belarusian military is actively adopting and adapting current military tactics and combat experience to its own needs.

In particular, in early March 2025, it was reported that there had been plans to send Belarusian military and security officials on a business trip to Russia to learn how to use drones.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus then appealed to the Russians to decide where the Belarusians could go. He wanted specialists who would later work in law enforcement agencies to be trained in Russia in the modern use of drones.

Lukashenko also ordered the heads of the agencies to familiarize themselves with the methods of using and mastering drones in Russia so that they could control these processes in Belarus.

In May, Belarus sent military instructors to study in Russia under a “training program developed based on the experience of modern armed conflicts.”

Already in June 2025, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus announced the creation of unmanned aerial vehicle troops.

In response, Belarus is increasing supplies of military goods. In particular, electronics and components used in Russian cruise missiles and drones to Russia. In addition, they are discussing the creation of a specialized ‘drone factory’ in Belarus with the capacity to produce up to 100,000 units per month for the Russian army.

It is stated that the production would focus on technical solutions already used by Russia, which would allow for complete localization of production.
