Russian occupation forces have begun construction of a new military base in the village of Myrne near Melitopol.
This was reported by the resistance movement Atesh.
According to Ukrainian freedom fighters, the occupiers are carrying out large-scale construction work on the site occupied by the 291st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.
This regiment belongs to the 42nd Motor Rifle Division and is permanently stationed in the village of Borzoy in Chechnya.
Construction equipment is working non-stop — the Russian military is building a permanent field camp to house personnel.
Special attention is being paid to the creation of a training cluster: the construction of sites for training unmanned aerial vehicle operators has been recorded.
In this way, the enemy is trying to form a rear base for training reserves and drone operators, counting on the fact that these facilities will remain inaccessible deep within the temporarily occupied territory.
According to Atesh, the facility is located at coordinates 46.930529, 35.417587 and is under constant surveillance by freedom fighters.
Information about its location has already been passed on to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Construction is being carried out on the territory that belonged to one of the emergency rescue units of the State Emergency Service, where the Russians have placed their Ministry of Emergency Situations units.
In addition, the Russian forces have occupied the barracks of the 16th Separate Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were also located on this site.
Previously, in November, the Atesh movement carried out a successful sabotage operation on the territory of the 229th air base in Rostov-on-Don, which belongs to the 4th Army of the Air and Space Forces and Air Defense of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.
