Argentina became a new member of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the Ramstein format.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced this during a speech.

He stated that he was pleased to see Argentina as a new member of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

“I am pleased to welcome Argentina as a new member of the Contact Group. Mr. Petri, I am glad to have you with us. The stakes in this war are high. None of us wants to live in a world dominated by Putin. That is why we have a lot of work ahead of us, and I am confident that this coalition will continue to meet the challenges,” the US Secretary of Defense said.

It should be noted that with the introduction of the new Argentine government, the country started to move away from rapprochement with Russia and China, which also sought to join the BRICS.

Today, the country is supporting Ukraine within its capabilities, as well as providing the necessary equipment, aircraft, etc.

Additionally, the Ukrainian government also plans to arrange for the supply of Argentine gunpowder to the country, which is needed to produce artillery shells.

Ukraine is working with the Argentine government of Javier Milei on cooperation between defense companies. This cooperation concerns the production of weapons parts, drones, naval drones, and electronic defense systems.

As previously reported, the Argentine government is currently considering sending Super Etendard fighter aircraft to Ukraine, which have not been put into service due to the embargo on the export of military equipment to Argentina.

Militarnyi reported that the relevant transfer plan was developed by Argentine Defense Minister Luis Petri and Foreign Minister Diana Mondino.

In total, the plan is to transfer five aircraft that the country bought from France in 2017 and could not put into service due to the United Kingdom’s embargo on the sale of certain military parts to Argentina.

This step of support for Ukraine was positively received by the current government of Argentina, which seeks to join the fight against Russian imperialism.
