One of the unmanned surface vessels that attacked a Russian reconnaissance ship on May 24 managed to reach its target and hit the ship.

The video from the unmanned surface vessel’s camera was published on social media.

The Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship was attacked on May 24 at 5:30 a.m. by three naval drones 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus Strait.

On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage featuring an attack on a ship of the Black Sea Fleet during which one of the unmanned surface vessels was hit. The press service released a statement that all targets were intercepted, and the ship continued performing tasks in the Black Sea.

However, on May 25, another video, taken from the onboard camera of an unmanned surface vessel, was released on social media. It shows how the vessel breaks through dense fire and hits the stern of the ship.

At the moment, the condition of the ship and the damage the unmanned surface vessel managed to inflict on it is not known for certain. However, the engine compartment, as well as part of the mechanisms of the steering devices and the propeller, are located in the place of impact.

As of now, Russian defense department officials still deny the unmanned surface vessels hitting the ship.
