Satellite images demonstrate that the invaders are digging out trenches for mass graves. The authorities of Mariupol have confirmed this information.

Information about the mass graves was published by journalists of the Schemes (Radio Svoboda).

The first trenches on the territory of the cemetery in the village of Stary Krym, which is located 5 km away from Mariupol, appeared on March 24, after the village was occupied by the Russian military.

The first images show that the trenches are 60 to 70 meters long.

The next satellite image is dated back to April 7. It shows that part of the trenches is buried, and the burial site was expanded.

A satellite image from April 24 showed new trenches. The length of the mass grave site was increased to over 200 meters.

The information about the mass grave in the village of Stary Krym was confirmed by Vadym Boychenko, Mayor of Mariupol.

He noted that the authorities are aware that the Russian military is taking the bodies of the dead Mariupol residents to the Starokrymskyi cemetery, where they are buried in mass graves. To do this, the Russians are recruiting locals for providing them with food.

“We know about these mass graves because these fascists – and I have no other words – are recruiting the local population and paying them with food to do the burials. They told us that they need to work hard hours to get food and water… At the moment, there is not enough humanitarian aid in Mariupol, thus the people are forced to do it,” Boychenko said.

Previously, the journalists reported several mass graves in the village of Mangush and the village of Vynohradne.

Russian propaganda media have published information about the graves in Mangush. They claimed that the dead are buried in separate graves and that equipment is not being used during the burials, although the published footage is showing the opposite.

In addition, the Mariupol City Council estimates that between 3,000 and 9,000 Mariupol residents are buried in Mangush.
