The 95th Air Assault Brigade received a batch of new 120-mm mortars from volunteers.
The military unit’s press service said that they had received the weapons from the Come Back Alive Foundation.
The paratroopers emphasized that thanks to the Foundation, the brigade’s arsenal had been replenished with seven new mortars.
“The mortar plays a significant role in the war, its compactness and mobility helps us to be always ahead, change positions and remain invisible, while actively firing at targets,” said the commander of the mortar unit that received the 120-mm mortars.
The brigade noted that this batch of mortars was made in Ukraine.
Ukrainian defenders explained that the main task of the mortar is to cover infantry, destroy enemy equipment and manpower, and repel enemy assaults.
This is not the first unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to receive weapons from the Come Back Alive Foundation.
Last month, three new mortars were handed over to the 140th Reconnaissance Battalion of the Ukrainian Navy.
In March this year, it became known that the Fund had completed the transfer of 300 82-mm mortars to Ukrainian defenders within the framework of the “EYE FOR AN EYE 2. Let’s arm the Territorial Defense Forces” project. The Foundation ordered these mortars from a Ukrainian manufacturer together with the OKKO filling stations.
Subsequently, the foundation reported that 31 Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received reconnaissance and strike systems with 120-mm mortars from the Come Back Alive Foundation. Thus, the Long Hands of the Territorial Defense project was implemented.
The total value of the property transferred to the Ukrainian army amounted to more than UAH 338 million.
With mortars, the Ukrainian military can strike the enemy at a distance of up to four kilometers in the offensive and in defense.
