8th SOF Regiment Captures POWs in Kupiansk City Center

A special operations group from the 8th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a clearance operation in several buildings in the city of Kupiansk.

The Special Operations Forces released video footage of the operation on their social media channels.

While conducting reconnaissance in the city center, SOF operators discovered a group of Russian troops who had established positions inside a destroyed supermarket and a nearby residential building.

As a result of the engagement, the fighters eliminated two Russian servicemen. Two other Russian soldiers were taken prisoner.

Thanks to the actions of the SOF group, adjacent Ukrainian units were able to advance and secure positions in the central part of Kupiansk.

Previously, soldiers of the Khartia Corps established control over the Kupiansk City Council building.

It is reported that the corps’ search-and-strike group, together with the Kupiansk tactical group, is completing the clearance of the city, which was liberated during a successful operation.
