The Special Operations Forces of Ukraine struck the Hvardiyske oil depots of the Russian state reserves in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The video was published by the press service of the Special Operations Forces.

According to the SOF, their successful actions resulted in the destruction of both oil depots in the villages of Hvardiyske and Karyerne. According to the online community CyberBoroshno, FP-2 attack drones were used in the attack.

The oil depot in Hvardiyske belongs to Kedr LLC, which owns the largest ATAN gas station chain on the temporarily occupied peninsula. The destruction of such a facility could lead to increased fuel supply problems in Crimea.

Meanwhile, the fuel crisis in Russia is rapidly worsening after a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil refineries.

The first signs of fuel shortages began to appear in late August. At that time, the shortage of gasoline was recorded mainly in the eastern regions of Trans-Baikal, Primorye, the Kuriles, and temporarily occupied Crimea. In September, the problem spread to more than 20 Russian regions. And as of mid-October, 57 regions of Russia were affected by the fuel crisis – more than half of the total number of Russian regions.

To overcome the crisis, occupied Crimea introduced rationing for the population and a limit of 20 liters of fuel per car, which is slightly less than a third of the fuel tank of a typical passenger car.

Overall, as of the beginning of October, almost 40% of Russia’s refinery capacity was shut down. Approximately 70% of the downtime was the result of drone attacks, which took out about a quarter of Russia’s refining capacity by the end of September.

As a result, gasoline production fell by 1 million tons in September. And its deficit in the domestic market reached 20% of consumption.

In addition to the Special Operations Forces, other units of the Defense Forces also attacked Crimea on the night of October 17. According to the General Staff, a fuel and lubricant depot of Russian troops in Dzhankoy and the Nebo-U radar station in Yevpatoria were also hit in Crimea.

“The results of the missions are being finalized. The implementation of asymmetric measures to weaken the offensive and military-economic potential of the aggressor country will continue until the Kremlin stops its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff said.

On the night of October 17, while repelling a drone attack on Crimea, Russian air defense destroyed its own Su-30SM fighter jet.
