Sirens sounded in Poland due to Russian UAV near NATO airspace

Air raid sirens sounded in the suburbs of Lublin (Republic of Poland).

This was reported by Polish analyst Hubert Walas, author of the Good Times Bad Times project, on the X network.

“Sirens in Świdnik (a city bordering Lublin – ed.),” wrote the Polish citizen.

Videos with the sound of sirens in Chełm were also posted on the network.

This was preceded by information from Ukrainian monitoring groups about the movement of a Russian drone from the city of Kovel in the Volyn region towards the Polish border. The threat to Poland appeared after 5 p.m.

At 5:31 p.m., the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported the activation of military aviation in the border regions.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Polish and allied aviation had launched a preventive operation.

“Ground-based air defense systems have been put on full alert,” Tusk wrote on Twitter.

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (Polska Agencja Żeglugi Powietrznej) announced the closure of airspace over Lublin Airport.

Polish citizens in the region received a warning SMS from the government about a potential air attack.

The NATO air operation lasted about two hours – at 7:35 p.m., the Operational Command reported that all aircraft had returned to their bases. As of 7:40 p.m., the airport in Lublin resumed operations.
