The Ramstein Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine discussed increasing the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine separately.

The Media Platform of the Defense Forces reported on this.

“There is a full understanding among the partners that we need these weapons and a commitment to work on providing Ukraine with more weapons for such strikes,” said the head of the Ukraine Defense Ministry’s Press and Information Department, Junior Lieutenant Illarion Pavliuk.

The meeting’s participants also discussed the adaptation of Western-style anti-aircraft missiles to Soviet launch platforms available to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as building capacity to increase the production of ammunition and artillery systems, including in joint projects between partner countries and Ukraine.

According to Colonel Hennadiy Kovalenko, Head of the Department of International Defense Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense, the participants also discussed strengthening Ukraine’s capabilities within the aviation, air defense, artillery, and maritime security coalitions.

The colonel noted that discussions within the aviation coalition include considering the provision of additional helicopters by the allies, in addition to their commitment to supply F-16 aircraft.

“It was a productive meeting, after which I would like to say ‘stop panicking’ to all those who are raising the mood about the loss of support for Ukraine,” Pavliuk said.

Militarnyi previously reported that Germany announced that it would provide Ukraine with six Sea King Mk41 multipurpose helicopters.

Germany also will provide training for the Ukrainian military. The timing of the helicopters’ transfer has not been disclosed.

Currently, Sea King Mk41s in Germany perform a variety of missions, including search and rescue, transportation, disaster relief, tactical land-sea transport, evacuation, surveillance, reconnaissance and maritime support. The helicopters are to be replaced by NH-90s.

The Ukrainian Navy already has British Sea Kings in its fleet.

In November 2022, the UK announced the transfer of three helicopters to Ukraine.
