Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki believes that the allies could jointly transfer up to 100 Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

He discussed this in an interview with Bloomberg on the sidelines of an economic forum in Davos.

“We have our 14 Leopard tanks planned, and are now waiting for Leopards from Denmark, Finland, Germany, and tanks from other EU countries,” he shared.

He also added that in total, the allies aim to collect up to 100 tanks.

Morawiecki also noted that he had a discussion with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and encouraged him to unlock assistance for Ukraine as soon as possible.

Currently, no German decision was made on the transfer of tanks. However, Poland and Finland have already announced their intention to supply this equipment to the Ukrainian troops. It is worth noting that Mateusz Morawiecki also mentioned Denmark.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, mentioned that at least five countries have already agreed to transfer tanks to Ukraine.

In total, 12 European countries are armed with Leopard. However, the transfer of this equipment without the consent of the German government is impossible.

Previously, Rheinmetall reported that they had 110 Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks at the storage bases, but they could take almost a year to be prepared for combat use.
