With a Tank and a Kind Word: Ukrainian Servicemen Capture a Russian Soldier

Soldiers of the regiment captured a Russian infantryman after they fired on the enemy position at close range with a tank during the clearing of a village.

The special forces soldiers, supported by a T-64BV tank, destroyed and stormed the enemy position in a semi-destroyed building, eliminating most of the enemy forces.

The Ukrainian soldiers captured a surviving Russian infantryman who was in the basement during the assault and later surrendered.

This occurred during the clearing of a settlement carried out by the forces of the 4th Regiment in coordination with allied forces and artillery.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Ranger Corps has its own tank units, the formation of which was confirmed two months earlier. Specifically, the aforementioned 4th Regiment was reinforced with T-64BV and T-72AV tanks.

The introduction of tanks in the unit within the Special Operations Forces structure is somewhat of an extraordinary decision, but their firepower is expected to become an important tool for the Ukrainian soldiers, who specialize in assault operations, clearing, and supporting SOF units.

Last fall, the Ranger Regiments also started to be equipped with other heavy equipment. The units received modernized infantry fighting vehicles, BMP-1.

Operations of the Ukrainian soldiers

Throughout March, the soldiers of the 6th Regiment reported several successful raid operations and strikes on Russian positions in the Kursk region, eliminating about two dozen soldiers from the Russian army and North Korea.

Previously, soldiers of the 73rd Special Operations Center, together with the 6th Ranger Regiment, destroyed or captured a platoon of Russian marines in the Kursk region.

The SOF operators infiltrated the positions of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region and eliminated 17 Russian soldiers in a firefight.

In November, soldiers of the 4th Ranger Special Purpose Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine (SOF) ambushed a Russian vehicle with infantry.
