A Russian soldier showed the aftermath of a HIMARS strike on Russian helicopters in the Belgorod region.

Dosye_shpiona Telegram channel published the video.

In the video, a Russian soldier captures the damage caused by the impact of an M30A2 rocket on Mi-28 and Mi-8 helicopters, which were armed and refueled at the time of the strike.

During the inspection, the soldier highlights the damage to the fuel tanks, which is also confirmed by the puddles under the helicopters, as well as the numerous holes—resulting from the impact of tungsten pellets on the helicopters.

Analyzing the damage to the Mi-28NM “Red 96,” it can be concluded that there are numerous damages to the fuselage—a punctured fuel tank and likely damage to the hydraulic systems. However, these parts remained undamaged due to the armored plates inside the equipment and the areas for the pilot and weapon systems operator.

Additionally, the engine was not damaged, as additional steel plates protect it.

Meanwhile, the Mi-8MTV-5-1 “Red 54” helicopter was much more heavily damaged, as the video shows, the missile hit the aft part, which resulted in the door to the cargo compartment being torn off.

Numerous damages are visible across the entire helicopter: a punctured fuel tank and damaged casing in areas where there is no armor.

Such damage is most likely fatal for the helicopter, so its restoration is unlikely, and the surviving parts will be used to repair other similar machines.

Meanwhile, the level of damage to the Mi-28 helicopter is not critical, and the aircraft will likely be restored.

On March 24, 2025, the HIMARS rocket system destroyed four Russian helicopters in the Belgorod region. They were identified as two Ka-52s and two Mi-8s. However, as demonstrated by a new video from the scene, instead of the Ka-52, a Mi-28 was hit.

This area is located at coordinates 51.055, 36.186, near the village of Ivnya, approximately 60 km from the Ukrainian state border. It was successfully discovered by the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, after which, in coordination with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the target coordinates were passed to the HIMARS rocket system crew, who then struck the location.
