A US-made MQ-9 Reaper fell down near the Romanian Câmpia Turzii air base. This happened during the military exercise.
Information about the accident was shared by Vasile Dîncu, Romanian Minister of National Defense.

The drone crashed approximately 2-3 km from the airbase while landing. There were no weapons on board.
“There was no damage, he fell in a field, in an uninhabited area. Americans are now doing the first analysis. (…) So far, these drones are being used for training. We train together, both us and Americans, with these drones,” Dîncu said.
He also noted that at the time of the incident, the US military was flying the drone.

The first flight took place on February 2, 2001. Created on the base of MQ-1 Predator. Equipped with a turboprop engine that allows it to reach speeds of more than 400 kilometers per hour. The ceiling is 13,000 meters.
The maximum flight duration of the UAV MQ-9 Reaper is 24 hours.
It has 6 hardpoints for carrying armament. It can be armed with AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles of the air-to-ground class, Mark 82 guided bombs and other weapons.
