The United States and its allies can provide Ukraine with fighter jets.

General Charles Q. Brown Jr., Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force stated this during a public appearance.

He spoke about supplying aircraft manufactured by allied countries, not Russia, at the Aspen Security Forum.

“It’ll be something non-Russian (Soviet – Ed.), I can probably tell you that. But I can’t tell you exactly what it’s going to be,” Brown said.

According to Brown, options include Swedish Gripen fighters, French Rafales, and Eurofighter Typhoons.

Brown indicated that training of Ukrainian pilots is also on the table.

The draft defense budget for 2023, approved by the US House of Representatives, provides for $100 million worth of training for Ukrainian pilots. The final decision is yet to be made, said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.

During the press conference, he indicated that the Pentagon is “exploring a number of options, including pilot training.”

Milley noted that they prioritize immediate support tasks and “helping them be successful in the fight that they’re in and employing the weapon systems that they need to be successful in that fight… But in terms of predicting where we’re going to be with pilot training, in months or years, I won’t venture to do that at this point.”

Eurofighter Typhoon is a multirole fighter of the fourth generation. Developed and produced by the international Eurofighter GmbH.

The Gripen fighter is a Swedish fourth-generation multirole fighter designed and manufactured by Saab.
