US forces destroyed the Venezuelan 9S510E command center of the Russian-made Buk-M2E air defense missile system.
The photos were shared by the analyst Status-6 on their X (formerly Twitter) account.
The images clearly show a combat vehicle that, based on its visual features, matches a command post rather than a self-propelled launcher of the system.
According to available information, the combat vehicle was located at the Igerote airbase, approximately 75 kilometers east of Caracas.
It is currently unknown whether the launchers under the control of this command post were destroyed or damaged.
The destruction of the 9S510E became the second confirmed loss of equipment from the Buk-M2E system.
The first confirmed loss was the self-propelled launcher 9A316E, destroyed in the Caracas area.
The Venezuelan version of the system includes the 9S510E command center, the 9S18M1E radar station, and the 9A316E launcher, all mounted on the Belarusian chassis MZKT-69221 in a 6×6 wheel configuration.
Previously, Venezuela deployed air defense systems, including the Russian Buk-M2E SAM systems.
This occurred amid demonstration flights of US strategic bombers near the country’s coastline.
Additional systems were deployed in the coastal city of La Guaira, north of Caracas.
