Unnamed country orders Elbit Systems to upgrade its tanks

The unnamed country ordered an upgrade of its main battle tanks from Elbit Systems.

The company announced two contracts totaling $240 million.

The Israeli company traditionally does not disclose its buyers and quantitative parameters of contracts.

Elbit Systems only noted that the customer is a foreign country.

Elbit Systems will modernize the tanks and deliver the necessary modern electronics kits in accordance with the terms of the agreements.

The first contract, worth $60 million, will be completed within two years. The second one, worth $180 million, will be completed within four years.

Bezhalel Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems, said that the armed forces of many countries in the world have again become interested in improving the combat capabilities of armored vehicles.

In his opinion, Elbit Systems is well positioned to meet the growing demand in this market due to its ability to provide comprehensive solutions.

Elbit Systems offers its customers for their armored vehicles integrated gunner and commander sights, fire-control systems.

There are also a wide range of onboard electronic systems, remotely controlled combat modules, a wide range of warning systems, panoramic surveillance systems, and unmanned turrets.

These systems can easily adapt to specific requirements.

The fire-control system from the company provides the ability to fire day and night, on the move, and a high probability of defeat from the first shot at moving targets.
