Russian troops try to establish control over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine once again repulsed the enemy’s assault in the area of Bilohorivka.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Oleksandr Motuzyanyk during a briefing at the Mediacenter Ukraine-Ukrinform.

“In the Donetsk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fighting a Russian group, which includes units of the 8th and 58th armies, as well as the mobilization reserve of the 1st and 2nd army corps of the southern military district. In addition, they also involved the groups of the 2nd and 41st armies, the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District, the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District, as well as airborne troops,” he said.

Ukrainian troops manage to prevent the enemy’s intention to take full control of the Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway.

Also, the enemy plans to create conditions for the encirclement of units of the Defense Forces in the areas of the Vuhlehirska thermal electric power station and the Novoluhanske village.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy tries again to storm Bilohorivka – the assault was repulsed.

“Trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from these areas, the Russian invaders used tanks and barrel artillery near the village of Verkhnyokamyanske and carried out an airstrike using Ka-52 near Tetyanivka,” Motuzyanyk said.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian troops conducted assault operations in the area of the settlements of Dovhenke and Mazanivka. The hostilities are currently ongoing.

The enemy also carried out an airstrike using a pair of Ka-52s in the districts of Dibrova and Bohorodychne. In the direction of the Dolyna village, the Ukrainian servicemen successfully repelled the assault of the Russians.

It is noted that the invaders withdrew one BTGr from the 36th Army of the Eastern Military District from the Sloviansk direction for repair.

The situation in the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivske, Zaporizhzhia directions has not changed much, the spokesman noted.

The Russian invaders continue to shell the positions of the Ukrainian troops with the aim of restraining the units of the Defense Forces and preventing their transfer to other threatening directions.

As previously reported, there are reports that ammunition is exploding in occupied Donetsk along with the open fire at the invaders’ depot.
