Ukrainian troops inflicted casualties on a Russian armored group that was advancing on the village of Snagost.
The Lost_warinua Telegram channel released a video showing a damaged Russian T-80BV tank near the village.
“An abandoned damaged Russian T-80BV (T-80BVM) tank with a grill near the village of Snagost, Kursk region,” the statement reads.
On September 10, Russian vehicles were hit during an armored group’s offensive from the village of Korenevo toward the village of Snagost.
DeepState analysts reported that on September 10, Russian troops in the Kursk region began active assault operations, moving armored vehicles first across the Seim River and then across smaller rivers.
The analysts also presented footage of an armored Russian convoy moving from Korenevo in the direction of Snagost.
Ukraine has not yet officially commented on reports of counterattacks and Russian army advances in the Kursk region.
For the Russians, the village of Snagost is important. Capturing this village will allow the Russians to unblock their group, which is trapped in the neighboring Glushkovsky district between the border and the Seim River.
It is possible that the Ukrainian military hoped to create a threat of encirclement of the Russian units defending the 70 km long section of the border and force them to retreat north, beyond the Seim River.
All three bridges across the river were disabled, and the pontoon crossings were systematically destroyed by shelling.
The villages of Lyubymivka and Novoivanivka on the Rylsk-Sudzha highway could be the likely target of the next Russian attack.
Since the beginning of the hostilities in the Kursk region, Ukrainian paratroopers have captured seven enemy tanks of various models.
