Soldiers of the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion neutralized a Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system in the Kherson region.
The video was published by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.
The enemy’s air defense system was discovered during the battalion’s reconnaissance activities, which included searching for enemy objects and equipment.
Thanks to the use of a drone with a built-in thermal imager, it was possible to detect a Russian Pantsir-S1 at a combat position.
Once the system’s location was identified, the coordinates were relayed to Ukrainian artillery.
Although the first artillery strike missed, it significantly damaged the Pantsir-S1.
The Russian crew attempted to relocate, believing they were no longer under surveillance.
After repositioning near a public road, the Pantsir-S1 was struck again by Ukrainian artillery. While the second shot wasn’t a direct hit, it caused debris to initiate the detonation of the system’s 57E6E missiles.
A Russian anti-aircraft missile and gun system was destroyed near the village of Chaplynka, Kherson region, at coordinates 46.349697, 33.551452.
Previously, Militarny reported that an M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, in cooperation with an aerial reconnaissance drone, destroyed a Russian Pantsyr-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system.
The Russian system was destroyed 30 kilometers south of the city of Donetsk, where it was supposed to provide air defense for enemy units.
Two missiles were used to destroy the Russian Pantsyr-S1. The first missile damaged it, and the second caused such damage that it set the anti-aircraft module and the entire system on fire.
