A group of Ukrainian pilots has completed training on Mirage 2000-5F jet fighters in France, according to RTL.
Ukrainian ground support specialists also completed the training.
According to the media, Ukraine has asked for a total of 12 Mirage 2000-5Fs to meet the immediate needs of the Air Force.
However, this information has not been officially confirmed. For example, back in October, Avionslegendaires.net reported that France would provide Ukraine with 12-20 such fighters as part of its military assistance.
Previously, a French Aid to Ukraine columnist wrote on Twitter that the training of Ukrainians on the Mirage 2000-5F lasted six months.
“After six months, the training of Ukrainian pilots and mechanics on the Mirage 2000-5F has been completed. Merry Christmas!” he wrote in his statement.
According to La Tribune, the first batch of Mirage 2000-5F jet fighters to be delivered to Ukraine by France in the first quarter of 2025 will consist of three aircraft.
Fighter jets of this modification are currently undergoing modernization to enable the use of weapons against ground targets. The Mirage 2000-5F was designed and used only as a jet fighter and did not provide for the use of air defense against ground targets.
The Mirage 2000-5F, which will be delivered to the Ukrainian Air Force, will be able to use French-British SCALP EG/Storm Shadow cruise missiles and French AASM guided bombs, which Ukrainian pilots already have experience in using.

In early June of this year, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Ukraine would receive Mirage 2000-5F jet fighters as part of military assistance.
The French President stated that France would organize six-month training courses for Ukrainian pilots and ground personnel to prepare them to fly these jet fighters.
