Ukrainian Missile Strike Destroys Main Workshop of UAV Plant in Taganrog – Satellite Images

A Ukrainian missile strike on January 13 destroyed the main workshop of the Russian Atlant Aero plant in Taganrog, Rostov region.

This was reported by analysts from the Dnipro Osint project after analyzing satellite images.

The company specializes in the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular Molniya drones, which the Russians actively use on the front lines.

In addition to the main workshop, the poor-quality images also show hits on nearby auxiliary buildings.

The images from space were taken the day after the attack, which took place at around 6:00 a.m.

Almost immediately, local residents began posting videos and photos of a severe fire inside the workshop online.

Subsequently, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the strike on the Atlant Aero plant was carried out with missiles manufactured in Ukraine.

The SSU and the Ukrainian Navy participated in this operation. It is likely that domestic Neptune cruise missiles were used.

According to the War & Sanctions portal of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Atlant Aero LLC is a manufacturer of the FPV kamikaze aircraft types Molniya-1 and Molniya-2, as well as the reconnaissance version Molniya-2R.

Such drones are widely used by the Russian invasion army in the war against Ukraine. These drones are also used to terrorize the civilian population in frontline cities and areas.

The plant in Taganrog is also involved in the production of components for the heavy Russian Orion strike drones. The enterprise develops and assembles electronic warfare (EW) systems.

This Russian plant had previously been targeted by drone strikes in November 2025.
