The Ukrainian military captured a Russian tank with a giant anti-drone metal superstructure, which among the military was called a “barn.”
The crew of this enemy fighting vehicle was also captured.
The video of the capture of the enemy’s tank was published on the network.
Judging by the footage, the tank with a huge superstructure of sheet metal and nets was first immobilized on one of the front sections, and then captured by the Ukrainian soldiers.
This metal superstructure is designed to protect Russian tanks from attack drones during assault operations.
A group of Ukrainian soldiers climbed inside this superstructure, where the crew of this tank surrendered to them. Two invaders fell into the frame.
After that, the captured tank went to the Ukrainian positions. Also writes that the enemy tank and prisoners were captured by soldiers of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Such “barnes” Russians began to install on their tanks before the assault, it has the appearance of a frame, sheathed with metal sheets, covering the upper and side and rear projections of the combat vehicle from drone strikes.
It is worth noting that the invaders began to use such improvised protection on their tanks in recent months in various sections of the front.
In addition, such machines are equipped with EW systems to suppress FPV-drone control signals and are sprayed with mine trawls to clear the path.
Such protection does not always save the invaders. The Ukrainian military has repeatedly hit such enemy combat vehicles. In particular, when the Russians tried to storm Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka.
Then the Russian tank with a “barn” led a column of several IFVs, which was going to break through the Ukrainian positions. However, it struck minefields.
