Ukrainian military personnel is training to use multiple rocket launcher systems and artillery in the UK.

Foreign journalists had the opportunity to attend training shootings with 105-mm L118 light towed howitzers. The training was conducted for Ukrainian servicemen in the south of England.

Military personnel also demonstrated to media representatives M270 multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) in action.

“Hundreds of Ukrainian servicemen have already undergone military training in the UK, learning to use more modern multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), which the British government supplies to Ukraine to counter Russian artillery,” the statement said.

It is reported that more than 450 Ukrainian servicemen have completed a military training program led by the United Kingdom with the support of New Zealand.

This program is a part of a large-scale package of international support from Western countries seeking to help Ukraine to fight back Russian aggression. Countries are providing Kyiv with more and more advanced weapons and training the Ukrainian servicemen to use these weapons.

In May the Armed Forces of Ukraine got news about 05-mm L118 towed howitzers supply. At that time the Government of New Zealand announced its plans to train a certain number of Ukrainian soldiers to use the field artillery guns.

The training of the Ukrainian servicemen by New Zealand specialists will last until the end of July.

The L118 is a lightweight 105 mm towed howitzer designed to support infantry, airborne troops, and assault teams. The howitzer is manually loaded and can effectively destroy lightly armored vehicles and infantry. The maximum range of the shot, depending on the ammunition, can be from 11,500 to 19,000 meters.

The United Kingdom and Norway also agreed to hand over additional M270 multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine.
