The assault group of the 1st Battalion of the 37th Marine Brigade successfully conducted a dynamic assault and cleared enemy positions.
The brigade’s press service released the video.
It is reported that during the assault, the marines used the Oshkosh M-ATV armored vehicle, which delivered the assault group directly to the enemy position.
As they approached the forest belt, the machine gunner in the vehicle’s “crown” opened fire, forcing the enemy to retreat to cover.
Under the cover of machine gun fire, the marines rushed out of the armored vehicle and began to act in pairs. The first pair took up positions and covered the second pair’s advance with fire.
The second pair planted powerful explosives on the enemy position, which led to the destruction of the shelter and the destruction of all enemy personnel inside.
Having successfully completed the task, the Marines loaded into the M-ATV and quickly left the enemy position.
The WarArchive project detailed that the assault took place near the village of Zelenivka in the Donetsk region.
The Oshkosh M-ATV is a 4×4 armored MRAP vehicle in service with the U.S. Army and a number of other countries, including Europe.
The crew of the vehicle usually consists of five people. One of them operates a weapon, which can be placed on the top of an armored vehicle. This may be a machine gun rotary turret on which a 7.62mm machine gun, 40mm grenade launcher or Browning M2 12.7mm heavy machine gun can be mounted.
Besides, the armored vehicle can be equipped with a remotely controlled combat module.
The machine has a V-shaped hull with its cabin accommodating specially designed seats, which provide shock absorption, protecting the crew from a shock blast wave. The armored vehicle can develop a speed of up to 105 km/h on the highway.
