The Russian invaders have lost expensive military equipment.
In the combat zone, the Russian Zoopark counter-battery radar system was destroyed.
This was reported in the “ARMY SOS” Facebook group.
An image of the affected enemy radar appeared as well.
The invaders’ equipment, which was tracking Ukrainian artillery positions, was destroyed by the missiles launched from the M142 HIMARS system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It was a Valkyrie drone that detected the radar and adjusted the fire on it. The Kropyva system from Army SOS assisted in coordination of the strike.
The two published images portray the location of the radar station before and after being struck by GMLRS missiles.
The main purpose of the Zoopark system of various modifications is to scout the opponent’s firing position and adjust the fire. The radar detects projectiles in the air and calculates the trajectory of their flight. From these data, it is possible to determine not only the fire position, but also the area of the hit. This allows the invaders to detect fire positions, as well as adjust the work of their own artillery systems on Ukrainian defenders.
Ukrainian Valkyrie is an unmanned aviation system for military and civilian purposes to provide monitoring, aerial reconnaissance, video surveillance and adjustment of artillery fire day and night.
Kropyva Combat System helps to perform ballistic calculations of detected objects or enemy positions for accurate fire defeat by Ukrainian gunners.
It combines the means of reconnaissance, control and artillery of various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into a single information environment.
The Combat System provides access to electronic maps of terrain with display of its own position via GPS and data exchange with other users of the system, in particular, coordinates of the detected enemy targets.
