Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian high-speed boat, Project 03160 Raptor, near the settlement of Znamianske in occupied Crimea.

Photos were released by the project Dosie Shpiona (ed. Dossier of the Spy).

The images show the completely destroyed boat being lifted from the seabed. It is reported that the attack took place on March 7.

During this period, the destruction of the enemy boat was reported by the Naval Forces and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. However, at that time, both boats were classified as Project 02510 BK-16.

It is currently unknown whether, in both cases, the vessel in question is the same one shown in the released photo.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet has relatively few Raptor-type boats remaining – approximately six units.

At the same time, some of these boats may have been transferred from the Baltic Fleet. The main and most numerous vessel of this class is the BK-16.

03160 Raptor

The high-speed landing boat Project 03160 Raptor is a fast coastal patrol boat designed by the design bureau of OJSC Pella Shipyard at the request of the Russian Navy. The boats are built at the Pella shipyard in the town of Vidradnoye, the Leningrad region.

The boats are intended for operations in coastal zones of seas, straits, and river mouths, both during the day and at night, with a maximum range of up to 100 nautical miles from their base.

They can also be deployed from a large landing ship or a universal landing ship, either positioned in the dock chamber or on deck.

The engine compartment is located in the aft section of the vessel and, according to the manufacturer, is equipped with two American CATERPILLAR C18 ACERT E-rating turbodiesels, each producing 1,150 hp at 2,300 rpm, with a displacement of 18.1 liters and an L6 cylinder block configuration.

A clutch is installed behind the engines, transmitting power to the shaft line of the waterjet propulsion system, manufactured in the UK by Rolls-Royce Kamewa 36A3 HS.

A distinctive feature of these waterjet propulsors is their ability to operate with partially filled water channels, which allows maneuvering even at significant hull inclinations. The water channel volume is 170 liters, according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Technical specifications of the Project 03160 Raptor boat:
