Ukrainian defense companies have developed and presented a “drone swarm” technology.
This was announced by Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin.
The Brave1 cluster, together with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the General Staff and the National Guard, conducted demonstration tests of the new development. Seven teams of manufacturers presented their drone swarm technology.
Representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff reviewed the Ukrainian manufacturer’s capabilities and provided recommendations for product improvements.
AI-based technology makes it possible to connect several dozen drones into a single network.
A “drone swarm” is controlled by a single operator.
The technology is supposed to unite a group of drones into an autonomous network, in which the operator will only have to select a target and authorize its destruction.
Within the network, each drone will be able to plan its own actions and predict the behavior of others in the swarm.
While UAV operators try to carry out operations involving several drones, artificial intelligence will be able to operate dozens.
It is known that in Ukraine, the “swarm of drones” technology is being developed by the Ukrainian company Swarmer.
Currently, the development of artificial intelligence-based technologies for unmanned systems in Ukraine are developing in several areas: optical target acquisition systems, navigation programs, and control systems for the so-called “drone swarm”.
For example, Ukrainian Lyutyi long-range strike drones are guided to their targets with high accuracy due to a machine vision system.
