Ukrainian company Skiftech developed a Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile system laser simulator.

Skiftech representatives told Militarnyi that the simulator had been successfully tested by the military.

The simulator allows for conducting 1,000 training shots. Such training will help the military successfully hit the target with a real system.

The portable nature of the simulator allows for training to be conducted in an open area.

This enables training for the military to be conducted under various weather conditions.

The simulator completely replicates the weight and systems of the real Stіnger MANPAD.

It has all the parts of the Stinger: a cooling unit that heats up, guidance systems, a fuse, a sight and other parts.

It works with a special application that shows the instructor the actions of the operator.

The instructor may include tests for the MANPAD operator in which the aircraft releases flares.

The touch and sensitivity of the controls, when the operator has already locked onto the target, also replicate those of the real system. The Stinger MANPADS simulator enables training against real aircraft, helicopters, and drones.

Recall that in January, the United States restored more than 1,900 missiles for the Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile system, which were previously considered inoperable.

Due to the recovery program, the U.S. Army was able to save about $50,000 for each recovered missile. To date, one new FIM-92 missile costs about $120,000-150,000. The increase in the cost of missiles is several times due to both the use of more technological and expensive components, and a decrease in the production of missiles.
