Ukrainian UH-60A Black Hawk multipurpose helicopters were spotted over Poland during a flight with an undisclosed purpose.

The sightings were first reported by local air spotters and later confirmed by the Polish defense outlet Defence24.

In Ukraine, the only operator of this type of aircraft is the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (DIU). The distinctive paint scheme confirms they belong to the Defense Intelligence.

A spokesman for the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said the flight took place in agreement with the Polish side, but its purpose and nature remain classified.

The final destination of the Black Hawks is unknown, as is whether they have already returned to Ukraine after completing the mission.

DIU’s Black Hawks

DIU currently operates two UH-60 Black Hawks.

The first was recorded in February 2023. It previously belonged to the U.S. civilian company Ace Aeronautics, which specializes in modernizing transport aircraft cabins.

The origin of the second helicopter, first seen on video in March 2024, remains unknown.

The Czech initiative Dárek pro Putina (A Gift for Putin) has also raised funds to purchase a third UH-60 for the DIU.
