“Ukrainian Armor” Design and Manufacturing Company has resumed mass production of 60mm mortar rounds and has already delivered over 100 thousand rounds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The company’s press service reported this on its social media.
According to CEO Vladislav Belbas, the production of 60mm mortar rounds was stopped with the beginning of a full-scale invasion. Part of the production facilities of the enterprise was lost, and some were occupied during the hostilities.
However, at the moment, Ukrainian Armor resumed the serial ammunition production at the reloaded sites using the principles of distribution production.
The company states it had already produced over 100 thousand mortar rounds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
UB60 is a 60mm shrapnel mortar round developed and manufactured by Ukrainian Armor.
It weighs 1380 grams and is capable of hitting targets at a radius of 2500 meters. They are delivered in transport boxes of 12 rounds each. The munition is able to fire with all NATO-standard 60mm mortars.
The manufacturer emphasizes that this is a ready-to-use mortar round. The mortar round from the UAC is fully equipped with a maximum propellant charge and is hermetically packed into an individual tube, unlike the classic post-Soviet mortar, which consists of a hull without a mounted cartridge and a fuze, so all its components are loaded into positions.
This approach reduces the operating time of the military in positions and does not require the gunners of the highest level of training.
According to the CEO, currently, this is the only Ukrainian mortar round that is produced by the domestic defense industry.
