Ukrainian Armor company is developing a wing-type FPV drone equipped with a 120mm mine.
This was announced by the company’s CEO Vladislav Belbas in an interview with Militarnyi.
According to him, it should be the cheapest, most reliable, and simplest solution with a flight range of up to 100 km.
“This is the simplest and most reliable means of delivering a 120 mm mine to a distance of up to 100 km,” Belbas said.
The drone will be powered by an internal combustion engine, but the question of communication remains. The first tests of the drone are planned in 2-3 months.
To reduce the weight of the mine from 16.7 kg to about 14.5 kg, the tail is removed. For example, a similar twin-engine FPV drone, Darts, has a payload of 12–14 kg, but its flight range is less than half that of the FP-2, at 40 km.
This will allow the drone to deliver 3–3.5 kg of explosives to the same distance as the Ukrainian FP-2, RAM-2X, and Bulava kamikaze drones.
