The Ukrainian An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft has delivered a Super Puma multi-purpose helicopter to Réunion Island, as reported by the publication Linfo.

The An-124 aircraft are among the largest transport planes in the world, capable of carrying not only aviation equipment and additional gear but also military vehicles.

The plane, with the inscription “Be Brave like Mykolaiv,” landed at Roland Garros Airport, where it unloaded the helicopter and additional equipment for local EDF specialists who are tasked with repairing the power grid.

It should be noted that today Antonov Airlines operates the largest transport aircraft available for civilian use.

This provides the company with additional revenue, and their services extend to both the transportation of civilian cargo and military equipment, which is delivered by air to both its buyers and for military deployment in certain countries, such as Afghanistan.

For instance, in January 2025, the Ukrainian An-124 transport aircraft played a significant role in the operation to withdraw the French contingent from Chad, transporting large-scale military equipment to its new base of operations.

Additionally, in early December 2024, the Ruslan aircraft was also involved in transporting five S-70i Black Hawk helicopters, manufactured by the Polish company PZL Mielec.

The aircraft with aviation equipment on board took off from Poland and landed at Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian An-124 transport aircraft had been involved in the project to launch the French CSO-3 military observation satellite.

The use of the Ukrainian An-124 was a successful choice because of the aircraft’s cargo compartment, which is capable of accommodating oversized cargo.

The CSO-3 satellite was already launched into orbit on March 6, 2025, from the Kourou spaceport by an Ariane 6 rocket.
