The retrofitted by Uralvagonzavod Russian infantry fighting vehicle is equipped with a BTR-82А combat module with a 30mm autocannon, a 7.62mm PKTM machine gun and a Tucha 902В system, which allows you to install aerosol curtains for visual camouflage on the battlefield. The combat vehicle module was equipped with a modern guidance system and thermal imager.
The modernized BMP-1АМ is designed for transportation of personnel by land and afloat, its fire support during the battle, fighting enemy manpower and lightly armored targets on the battlefield.
Despite the upgrade, the ballistic and mine protection of the “Basurmanin” hull remained at the level of the basic Soviet BMP-1.
The Ukrainian military has repeatedly neutralized and captured such Russian modernized infantry fighting vehicles.
