The 3rd Assault Brigade showed footage of a night battle in the Avdiivka sector with the participation of M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
The Brigade released the corresponding video on its YouTube channel.
The first footage shows soldiers loading into a M113 armored personnel carrier and then into an infantry fighting vehicle, the M2 Bradley, as they head to a location in Avdiivka, where they need to eliminate enemy forces.
After landing, the soldiers spread out into sectors and began firing on the enemy.
After that, the group received a renewed task: to destroy the hideouts of the invaders to create a buffer zone between the enemy infantry and Ukrainian positions.
The soldiers successfully completed the task and eliminated the point of accumulation of the enemy, where the enemy concentrated forces to carry out assault actions. The fire raid also destroyed about 10 invaders.
After that, groups of fighters were redeployed to the private sector of the Orlivka settlement to strengthen the positions of adjacent units to repel the enemy assault.
The fighting unfolded within the partly destroyed village houses. The invaders attempted to maneuver from the flank. However, the Ukrainian soldiers swiftly responded to the threat, halting the enemy’s advance with concentrated fire.
As a result, the enemy’s losses amounted to about 30 servicemen, more than 10 were killed during the rifle battle.
“I am pleased with the guys, many of them had no combat experience, there was even one 18-year-old soldier, who showed himself very cool,” the platoon sergeant summed up the night’s raid.
At the end of March 2024, Militarnyi reported about the mopping-up operation in Orlivka in the Avdiivka direction.
For the assault, the Ukrainian military took with them small arms and grenade launchers. The fighters also captured shots with a thermobaric high-explosive grenade.
The actions of the Ukrainian assaultmen were covered by drones, which also delivered supplies to the village.
However, the Russian invaders also used a drone and targeted the Ukrainian positions in Orlivka with FPV drones.
Russian 120mm mortars also operated against the soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade.
During the fighting, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded and evacuated from the village using improvised means.
On March 24, it was reported that an Irish volunteer from the 3rd Assault Brigade hit six D-20 and D-30 guns invaders with an FPV drone per day.
